Welcome to the Future with Shootsta AI

Video production is changing fast, and a large part of that change comes from artificial intelligence (AI). Tasks that used to take an editor hours, or a producer days, can now run in the background while the team works on something else. We have only started to find out what that frees up on the creative side.

We are excited about it, and we also think it deserves some care rather than a head-first dive. Adding AI to a production process was a decision we took slowly. New tools have to earn their place without flattening the storytelling that makes a video worth watching. We adopted AI because it gives our creators more room to be creative, and because it puts a few things within reach that used to be out of budget.

Shootsta's Unique Approach to AI

At Shootsta, our work with AI in video production has been equal parts optimism and caution. We can see what the technology does for production: it makes video faster to make and easier for more people to make. At the same time, we keep a close eye on the thing that makes a video land with its audience, which is a person deciding what to say and how to say it.

AI is there to support the creative work, and the creative work stays with people. We use it as a tool that gives our creators time back, so they can spend that time on the storytelling a machine cannot copy. In practice that means handing the technical, repetitive parts of production to the software, so you spend your hours on the parts your audience will notice.

Used with some thought, AI is a tool that can raise the quality of the work and give creators more room to try ideas. As we go, we keep making videos that look and sound like the people and brands in them, and the creative spirit Shootsta started with stays in charge.

Today we are launching Shootsta AI, our first set of AI tools for creating video with Shootsta. It is a big moment for us and for the customers who asked for it, because the technology and the creative work now sit in the same place in our product.

Shootsta AI is a set of features that take time out of production and make video easier to create for people who have never made one. The three jobs it does are below.

Faster production: Shootsta AI takes work out of the production process from start to finish. It handles slow tasks such as writing the brief, so your creators spend their time on the creative decisions and the project finishes sooner at the same quality.

Better creative output: Speed is only half of it. Shootsta AI also offers suggestions as you plan a video, which gives you a starting point when the page is blank and a few angles on the story you might not have tried. The video gets made faster, and it has more ideas in it.

Video for every team: One of the main aims of Shootsta AI is to make video production something any team can do, in any market, whatever their technical skill or budget. The tools are simple to pick up, so a business anywhere can make a high-quality video that holds attention.

Shootsta AI is a new feature, and it is also a statement of where we are heading. We want to keep making video simpler to create, and this release is the next step in that work.
