Tower Bridge via South Bank

When it comes to London’s bountiful architecture, nothing says heritage like a shot of Tower Bridge – one of the city’s most recognisable symbols. A simple way to achieve this is by filming on the South Bank of the River Thames, continuing west beyond Potters Fields Park. If you’re feeling adventurous, you could even try a ‘walk and talk’ around the More London Riverside area for pan shots, trees and a glimpse of City Hall. To visit Tower Bridge, take the Underground (Tube) to London Bridge station on the south side; conversely, Tower Hill is your northern option.

Borough Markets

Continuing along the South Bank, discover one of London’s most famous markets – and the bustling backdrop to many a film. Video-wise, it’s also great for recording business updates or content related to connecting people, due to its busy vibe and large crowds. That said, background noise can be an issue, so go early (don’t worry, you’ll still get people-based shots) and check your audio. A good spot to film is the north-eastern entrance; it’s below the overpass, but it’s worth it – just pack a LED light! You can get there by catching the Tube to London Bridge.

Neal’s Yard

If Borough Markets isn’t vibrant enough, you might like Neal’s Yard (a.k.a. the ‘secret’ location that’s on everyone’s Instagram list). Neal’s Yard – a little street off Covent Garden’s Seven Dials – is famous for its ultra-colourful shopfronts, culminating in a courtyard that’s ‘ye olde London’ meets a box of crayons. So if you’re looking for something a little bit different, head to Neal’s Yard (do arrive early, as the little laneway does get busy). It’s a short walk from Covent Garden’s station.
