Animated corporate video production questions
What is animated corporate video production?
Animated corporate video production is the process of making business video without a camera. A script is written and approved. A storyboard sets the visuals. A style kit fixes the type, palette and motion rules. Animators build the frames from there. It covers 2D motion graphics, whiteboard, kinetic typography, character animation and 3D. Because there is no shoot, the whole thing can be produced remotely and updated later without reassembling anyone.
How much does an animated corporate video cost?
Animation is priced per minute of finished video rather than per shoot day, so the variable is how much gets designed from scratch. A 60-second 2D explainer built from an existing style kit sits at the low end. A bespoke 3D piece with custom character rigs sits at the high end, often ten times higher. The economics change once a style kit exists, because every video after the first draws on work already paid for.
How long does an animated video take to produce?
The script and storyboard take longer than the animation, which surprises most teams. From an approved script and an existing style kit, a 60-second 2D explainer can come back within days. Starting from a blank page, three to five weeks is normal, and most of that is approvals rather than production. Locking the words before anyone animates them is the single biggest lever on the timeline.
We have designers in-house who can animate. Where does Shootsta fit?
In-house designers usually can animate, and that is exactly the problem: animation eats the week that was meant for brand, campaign and design work. It is also the format where a small skills gap shows most, because bad easing and inconsistent timing read as amateur even when the artwork is good. Shootsta takes the production so your designers keep the style kit, the creative direction and the approvals. The house style stays theirs; the render hours stop being theirs.
Is animation better than live action for corporate video?
It depends on what has to be shown. Animation wins when the subject is abstract or cannot be filmed. It also wins when the content will change and need re-versioning, because an update is an edit rather than a re-shoot. Live action wins when the point is a real person, a real place or a real product in someone's hands. Most enterprise libraries end up with both, and the sensible split is decided per video rather than per brand.
