What Is Rush Turnaround in Video Editing?

Last updated 27 October 2026.

Rush turnaround means getting a video back faster than the provider's normal schedule, for a video that has to go out sooner than planned. Most providers charge extra for it, because they have to move an editor off other work.

Teams usually need it for event recaps, announcements that leak early, crisis updates and campaigns where the date moved.

How do you avoid paying for rush turnaround?

Most rush requests come from late footage or late approvals, not from the edit itself. Book the editing slot when you book the shoot, and agree who signs off before the footage arrives.

For recurring deadlines such as a monthly leadership update, set a fixed schedule with your provider. A predictable slot is cheaper than a string of urgent ones.

How Shootsta handles it

The standard Shootsta turnaround is around 48 hours for the first version. Rush turnaround is available when you need it faster, and it is quoted separately.
